An international flavour has been added to Hydro Tasmania Consutling's 5-Star Green Star rated accommodation at Cambridge with the installation of a significant artwork.

The artwork, titled Scape, was commissioned by Hydro Tasmania Consulting through funding provided by Prudentia Investments and Harvey Norman Ltd and is a joint effort between Tasmanian John Vella and Stephen Hurrel from Scotland.

Hydro Tasmania Chief Executive Officer, Vince Hawksworth, said the collaboration represents the innovative and international nature of the consulting business.

"Hydro Tasmania Consulting has a reputation for excellence in designing and developing renewabe energy projects around the world and this artwork is a reflection of this reputation," Mr Hawksworth said.

"When we were planning this development we wanted to ensure we provided an element for the local community and our people.

"This artwork is already a significant landmark for the Cambridge community."

Hydro Tasmania Consulting undertook a rigorous process in selecting the artwork with a number of accomplished artists invited to submit expressions of interest.

"We were looking for an artwork that would reflect Hydro Tasmania's renewable energy brand and could represent the natural elements of water and wind that are a source of sustainable energy," Mr Hawksworth said.

Hydro Tasmania appreciated the assitance provided by the Arts@Work people in guiding it through the development of the project brief and the selection process.
